Breakfast on board and discovery of the Tuna el Gebel and Ashmunein site. The visit of Tuna el Gebel is varied, it allows to admire the facades of some chapels and to visit the tomb of Isadora. Return to the boat for lunch then visit the tombs of Beni Hassan. The site owes its name from Beni Hassan to an Arab tribe who settled there at the end of the 18th century. For obvious reasons of topography, the necropolis was built to the east and not to the west of the Nile. Indeed in this area, the gébel (mountain range), is only about one kilometer from the river while on the west bank, traditionally reserved for the dead, the mountain is much further away. Return to the boat after the visits. Dinner and folklore show on board then overnight. Navigation towards Tel El Amarna during the night.

Tel Al Amarna - Sohag

Free day of navigation to Sohag. At the end of the day, a monochrome evening organized on board, then dinner and overnight.

From the Old Kingdom, he is found associated with Osiris whose popularity had spread throughout the country. Soon the idea that any Egyptian could become an Osiris spread. Funeral rites until then reserved for pharaohs and nobles extended to all classes of the population and Osiris became a universal god. Abydos became the main place of worship of Osiris because there was one of his tombs that housed his head. Continuation of navigation to Qena via the Naga Hammadi bridges. Meals on board and organization of a competition. Overnight on board.

Qena - Dendarah - Luxor

Breakfast on board and visit to the temple of Dendarah. About 60 km north of Luxor stands, on the left bank of the Nile, at the edge of the desert, a large Ptolemaic temple dedicated to Hathor. The city of which the temple was the heart has disappeared. Denderah appears to be in an excellent state of conservation. In reality, only part of the temple remains, which was built on the principle of a triple brick enclosure: the enclosures of Hathor's husband, Horus, and his son, Ihy have almost completely disappeared. So only the enclosure of Hathor remains, practically forming a 300m square which was the most important of the three and the heart of the sacred building. Lunch on board before continuing the cruise to Luxor. Bellydance show in the evening then dinner and overnight on board.

Luxor

Breakfast, then visit to the necropolis of Thebes on the west bank of the Nile, followed by the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens, where the tombs of many New Kingdom pharaohs are located, as well as their families and nobles in favor . Lunch on board. The visits continue with the Colossi of Memnon, the last vestiges of the temple of Amenhotep III and Deir el Bahari, the funeral temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Lunch on board, then start to visit the southern part of ancient Thebes, where the temples of Karnak and Luxor are located. The two temples are connected by a dromos, a long path lined with sphinxes, and are dedicated to Amun. Dinner and overnight on board. In the evening optional sound and light show at the Karnak temple.

Louxor - Edfou - Kom Ombo

After a breakfast on board the navigation continues to Edfu. On arrival, you will enjoy a carriage excursion to the temple of Edfu, further inland. This temple of the falcon god Horus is both the largest temple of the Ptolemy dynasty and the second largest sanctuary in Egypt after Karnak. Inside, the intact paintings, inscriptions and reliefs make it the best-preserved temple in Egypt. Return to the boat for lunch and up the river to Kom Ombo. Visit of the temple of Kom-Ombo, dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. Erected on a hill by three Ptolemies, the temple is surrounded by a surrounding wall covered with reliefs. Inside, the space is divided into two parts: the northern one dedicated to Haroéris the hawk-headed god and the southern one to Sobek, the crocodile god. Return to the boat and navigation to Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board.

Aswan

Breakfast on board then visit of the temple of Isis on the island of Philaé. Begun by Pharaoh Nectanebo I during the XXX dynasty and completed by the Romans, it is the main sanctuary dedicated to Isis. Felucca ride around Elephantine Island and discovery of local shops, then departure for the high dam and the unfinished obelisk. Lunch on board. The region of Aswan, rich in schist, alabaster and pink granite present only in this part of Egypt, provided the stone blocks intended for the pyramids, statues and colossi built by the pharaohs. In the granite quarry you will find the largest obelisk known to date (41.75m), the size of which was abandoned following a crack in the rock.
