Aswan
On arrival in Aswan, welcome and transfer to your boat. Breakfast on board then departure for the visit of the temple of Isis on the island of Philae. Started by the pharaoh Nectanebo I during the XXth dynasty and completed by the Romans, it is the main sanctuary dedicated to Isis. Felucca ride around Elephantine Island and discovery of local shops, then departure for the high dam and the unfinished obelisk. The Aswan region, rich in shale, alabaster and pink granite present only in this part of Egypt, provided the stone blocks intended for the pyramids, statues and colossi built by the pharaohs. In the granite quarry you will find the largest obelisk known to date (41.75m), whose size was abandoned following a crack in the rock. Lunch and dinner on board. Aswan - Kom Ombo
Free morning in the city. Optional excursion by bus or plane to visit the temples of AbouSimbel, built by Ramses II. Return to Aswan for lunch before starting the navigation to Kom Ombo.Visit the temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the gods Sobeket Haroeris. Erected on a hill, the temple is surrounded by an enclosure wall covered with reliefs. Inside, the space is divided into two parts: the northern one dedicated to Haroéris the god with the head of a sparrowhawk and the southern one to Sobek, the crocodile god. Return to the boat and navigation to Edfu.
Edfu - Esna - Luxor
Breakfast on board and continue sailing to Edfu. On arrival departure for the visit of the temple of Edfu. You will enjoy a horse-drawn carriage excursion to the temple, further inland. This temple of the falcon god Horus is both the largest temple of the Ptolemy dynasty and the second largest sanctuary in Egypt after Karnak. Inside, the intact paintings, inscriptions and reliefs make it the best preserved temple in Egypt. Return to the boat and descend the river to Esna to pass the lock in the middle of the day. Continuation of the navigation towards Luxor, and arrival at the end of the day. Dinner and overnight on board.
Luxor
Breakfast, then departure for the necropolis of Thebes on the west bank of the Nile, with a visit to the Valley of the Kings, where the tombs of many pharaohs of the New Kingdom are located, as well as their families and nobles in favor, continuation of visits with the Colossi of Memnon, the last remains of the temple of Amenhotep III and Deir el Bahari, the funeral temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Dug into the rock in the mountain of Thebes, this temple with three terraces built in -1455 is both harmonious and modern and although dedicated to the god Amun, there are also chapels of Anubis and Hathor, the protective goddess of women, then towards the southern part of ancient Thebes on the east bank of the Nile, with a visit to the temple of Karnak. After the visits, return to the boat for lunch and then free time until the transfer to the airport.
